The backstory to how the legendary Pete (the man everyone adores) got his guitar and how it ended up with Connor. Pete is a citizen of Shade who has prophetic visions of a King of Them All that he believes he must seek out. This journey leads him to the deserts of the Dustlands, where he comes across freeway pirates, pterodactyl-masked people and a mall buried under the sands. In the end, he must fight for his life and commits a crime that is such a burden for him to bear that he gives up his guitar.
